Staring at Goats with "Ber" Months

Let the "ber" months begin! Yep, it's officially Septem-ber. Eek! Then before you know it, it'll be 2010. But I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. Let's just get through this month first. I'm still trying to figure out what I have and have not accomplished this year. It's really gone by in almost a blur.

With Labor Day being tomorrow or this past Monday (depending when you read this) here in the States, that means the fall and winter movie season is upon us. It also marks the near end of summer. Break out those sweaters folks. This is when the studios release all the "award" contenders and some of the better movies of the year. Hopefully. From the list of movies coming out soon, there seems to be a mixed bag to different genres. Here's one that I can't wait to come out. It looks like it will be good.

This week's trailer: The Men Who Stare At Goats.

Directed Grant Heslov. Starring George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey. Based on a book by Jon Ronson

Synopsis via Wikipedia
...Goats tells the true (albeit somewhat bizarre) story about a top secret unit within the American military whose purpose is to develop mind-control powers for “psychic spying.” The film follows a reporter, Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor), who stumbles into the story of a lifetime when he meets a special forces agent, Lyn Cassady (George Clooney). As they embark on a new mission, Lyn reveals his twenty-year involvement in this top secret, psychic military unit and shares details of their activities, each more bizarre than the last (including staring at goats in order to kill them telepathically).

The trailer looks like fun. The movie looks like it'll be good. Can't wait to see this one when it comes out. Plus, it's got some great names on the roster. Opens November 6th.
