Directed by Scott Cooper. Starring Jeff Bridges, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rovert Duvall, and Colin Farrell
Synopsis via Wikipedia
Bad Blake (Jeff Bridges) is an emotionally-crippled, alcoholic country music singer, with one too many failed marriages under his belt. Enter Jean Craddock (Maggie Gyllenhaal), a young journalist who begins to see the man behind the musician and helps Bad get his life back on track. In doing so, Bad also becomes the mentor to a contemporary country star, Tommy Sweet (Colin Farrell), while simultaneously struggling in the rising young crooner's shadow.
I love Jeff Bridges. Aside from being the son of Lloyd Bridges and brother of Beau Bridges, he's definitely a fantastic actor as well as a cool photographer. He's probably most recognized for this rolls as "The Dude" in The Big Lebowski as well as for the cult hit, Tron. If you haven't seen these movies, go watch them. But he's definitely been in more films than just those two. Anyway, I've been hearing several positive reviews about this film. It may just be worth checking out. It looks pretty good, too.
It opens on December 16th in limited release.
