Pet Peeves. A pet peeve of mine has always been people who can't seem to control their voices in public. There is a time to be boisterous and a time to be appropriate and civilized. Besides making an ass of yourself in public is not always a fun thing.

Example 1:
Yesterday I was walking through Mervyn's in the Glendale Galleria. A mother was upset at her daughter, the parent was throwing a temper tantrum. Speaking loudly in a angry voice making sure her disapproval was known even to those around her. I felt the the daughter. The emotions and embarrassment she must be feeling for being disciplined publicly like she was on trial. You'd think her mother would have waited until they had gotten home. Apparently not. I'm not by any means offering any parenting advice since I don't have any children of my own, yet. But it's common sense. Impulses sometimes get the best of us.

Example 2:
People talking loudly for the sake of talking. We, Filipinos, should know about this. No matter how uninteresting a conversation can be sometimes people can just be too damn loud. We all should have a volume nob attached to our trachea. It can get distracting and annoying at times.

In other news, we have some serious wildfires going on here in SoCal. Hundreds of homes lost and thousands of acres of land burned. The air outside is filled with smoke blanketing nearby cities with a murky shade of grey and brown. You set foot out the door and the smell of something burning just inundates you. It's like a giant barbecue. Not good for the lungs. The weather isn't helping either. It's been in the 80s and 90s with gusts of wind, so that makes tings worse. I can only pray and hope that the firefighters can contain these wildfires soon and people can start rebuilding what has been lost.
