Something UP-lifting

Let's see this week, I've been working on the 3rd draft of the script I've been writing since last month. I officially finished the draft last night. I'm still loving it. And it's improving with every rewrite. I'm crossing my fingers that something good will come of this. I've got hope. When sometimes hope seems like the last thing that would be on my mind. But it's there.

I'm already imagining who could play the possible parts. I've got it all pictured in my head from how scenes will be played out, shots and angles. The one thing about filmmaking that that you don't see films the way the average film-goer sees them. In your head are all the technical stuff that goes into it from lighting, cinematography to even down to the tiniest of detail pertaining to a prop. But I love it. I still enjoy watching movies. Luckily, I can differentiate the filmmaking from the viewer aspects.

A couple days ago, I read a story of this little girl, Colby Curtin, who was dying of cancer. Her last wish was to see the Pixar movie "Up." But her conditioned worsened, which prevented her from going to the theater. Someone somehow managed to get in contact with people at Pixar as the company sent someone with the only DVD copy of the movie to the girl's home in Orange County, CA. The little girl wasn't able to see much of the movie, but her mother described scenes to her. Several hours later, Colby Curtin, passed on.

It's a really touching and moving story. Sad as it may seen, it's also uplifting. I'm glad to see her final wish granted by Pixar company. It's stories like these that give me hope in the goodness in people. Some that's deeply missing in society today, when the focus has been more on the negative rather than the positives. I will admit that I had tears welling up in my eyes as I read it. I love the last quote that Colby's mother had said, “I’ll have to fill those adventures in for her.”
