Where'd the week go?

This week has certainly gone by fast. WAY too fast. I could have sworn that yesterday was only Monday. I can't even remember what I did. It's just a total blur. Anyway...this past week, we were dealt with three deaths in the entertainment and music industry.

First, Ed McMahan, Johnny Carson's right hand man and spokesman for publisher's clearing house. He was also host of Star Search. I remember watching that every week back in the early 90's. That was the original America's Got Talent. I give Star Search four stars. Then the passing of Farrah Fawcett. An original Charlie's Angel. Granted, we knew it was a matter of time before she would die from cancer. It's still shocking when it does happen.

On that same day, was the unexpected death of Michael Jackson. Sure, we all had our fair share of crackin' MJ jokes. But I was really shocked of his passing this past Thursday. Sure, he lived a strange and odd life, but I loved his music. He really made an impact with molding the music industry to what it is today. Come on, don't tell me you didn't love The Jackson 5 and his early solo works. I preferred the MJ of the 80's and early 90's as I'm sure most of us do. I knew the steps to Thriller and Beat It. I still do. Well...most of it. I tried to moonwalk. I know you reading this did, too. Once in a while I'll listen to a couple of his songs. so, for now let's leave out all the crazy weird stuff and just enoy the music.

Remember, we never know when we'll take our last breath here on earth, so don't take anything for granted. Appreciate life. Anyway...for your enjoyment here's Beat It and Thriller.
