Up in the Air with the Next Draft

I'm working on the next draft of my feature screenplay. It's getting there, I tell you. If I had to put a percentage on it, I think it would be around 85-90% there. It's definitely progress and I've got some ideas on how to possibly get some type of funding for it. Did you hear that producers/investors/people with money??? I'm coming for you. Not in any malicious way. That's not my thing. I'm a gentle soul. I'm going to do it with a convincing wink and a smile, as the saying goes, and my adorable little self. (*insert smile with cheek dimple*)

I've gotten some great feedback from those who've read it thus far. These people are those who have worked or are working in the industry. I've definitely got something unique in my hands. Keyword there was UNIQUE. One of a kind. It's something I really want to make. How bad do I want it on a scale of 1 to 10? I'd say an 11. Get the little joke there? And not just an 11, but 12, 13, and 14. Let's just say it's above and beyond a ten. How about that? Plus, isn't that what producers are always looking for? Something unique? I should know because I'm a producer myself. Only time will tell. I still feel very optimistic about this. But for now, I'm just going to keep doing what I do until that moment finally arrives.

His company chooses to ground him and keep him at the corporate headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.According to Reitman, "The movie is about the examination of a philosophy—what if you decided to live hub to hub, with nothing, with nobody?"


Looks like Mr. Clooney's got himself a bunch of movies this year. Well, three from what I counted. The trailer I put last week, this movie, and an animated flick called Fantastic Mr. Fox. We definitely have our fair share of him for these final few months of 2009. But this movie looks promising. It's gotten generally positive reviews from Telluride and Toronto Film Festivals.

I did enjoyed Juno and Thank You For Smoking. Jason Reitman is a good director and knows what he's doing. From several reviews I have read, they say that this is his best film yet. I think this could be one of those to look out for when award season arrives.

The original opening date was December 4th, but I hear they're moving it up to November. So keep an eye out for it.
