Zombieland

Taken from Wikipedia

This week's trailer is Zombieland.

Directed by Ruben Fleicher. Starring Woodie Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin.

Synopsis via IMDB:
In the horror comedy Zombieland focuses on two men who have found a way to survive a world overrun by zombies. Columbus is a big wuss -- but when you're afraid of being eaten by zombies, fear can keep you alive. Tallahassee is an AK-toting, zombie-slaying' bad ass whose single determination is to get the last Twinkie on earth. As they join forces with Wichita and Little Rock, who have also found unique ways to survive the zombie mayhem, they will have to determine which is worse: relying on each other or succumbing to the zombies.

If you liked American Werewolf in London and Shaun of the Dead, then this movie is for you. I loved both movies. I laughed until I couldn't laugh anymore and squirmed at the squeemish parts. I like horror movies, so this was right up my alley. But lately a lot of movies in the genre just feels a bit...I don't know...done, pointless and overused? I don't know how else to say it. Besides who wants to see another Saw movie? Come on, I want to see hands. I liked the first two Saw flicks, after that it just got ridiculous. Also that recently opened movie, Jennifer's Body, I'm not going to even bother with it.

Zombieland is a horror-comedy flick with some gore and action mixed with a blend of humor. Combining those three things can be a tricky thing to pull off. From what I've read, the reviews have been positive. So there is hope for the horror genre after all. Maybe.

Opens October 2nd.
